Pinellas County Human Services

Pinellas County Human Services has been creating solutions for a stronger community by serving those most in need since 1955. With a network of over 105 partner agencies and managing 190 plus contracts and grants, Human Services helps Pinellas County residents obtain access to medical care, emergency financial assistance, help connect to county judicial resources, optimize benefits for Veterans and Dependents, investigate consumer complaints, and help those who are experiencing homelessness.

  • Provides Housing to Eligible Pinellas County Homeless Families

    The Family Housing Assistance Program (FHAP) is designed to assist homeless families that have been referred by the Pinellas County Coordinated Entry System (CES). Coordinated Entry is a process developed to ensure that all people experiencing a housing crisis have fair and equal access and are quickly identified, assessed for, referred, and connected to housing and assistance based on their strengths and needs. CES is a standardized process used throughout the country.

    A look at the program . . .

    The Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) program provides medical services, otherwise known as primary care, which includes treatment of illness or injury as well as preventive care, education, limited prescription coverage and referrals for lab work, specialty care, dental assistance, behavioral-mental health assistance, and substance abuse treatment.

    The staff includes a medical director, examiner, nurses, and DOH staff. Pinellas County Homeless residents can receive basic healthcare in two primary locations: Bayside Health Clinic and with the Mobile Medical Unit.

    Pinellas County Human Services has partnered with the Pinellas County Department of Health and the Turley Family Health Center to provide prevention-focused health care to eligible Pinellas county residents. The Pinellas County Health Program moves clients from a "sick care" model toward a "disease management" model through the use of medical homes.

    Do you want to pitch in and help? Hundreds of opportunities are available for you to get involved and help our community.

    You could:

    • Serve a meal at Pinellas Hope

    • Attend a meeting at the Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless

    • Participate in the annual Point-In-Time Homeless Count in January

    • Volunteer at a cold-night shelter

    • Make a monetary donation to your favorite cause in someone's honor or as a gift

Pinellas County Care Fund: Help make a difference in the community!

To meet the needs of our community, Pinellas County invites you to “help us help our neighbors”. The Pinellas County Care Fund accepts donations to help with basic necessities such as water or electric bills.  The helping hand provided through the fund can be the difference when faced with financial hardship. The Pinellas County Care Fund will provide emergency financial assistance to eligible Pinellas County adults and seniors one time per year. 

Individuals and businesses in Pinellas County can donate to the Pinellas County Care Fund to provide emergency assistance. Your donation is tax deductible and can make a significant difference in our community.  Secure donations can be made online on the donation button above.

Donations by check should be made out to Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners and sent to Pinellas Human Services, Attn: Pinellas County Care Fund, 440 Court Street, 2nd Floor, Clearwater, Florida 33756.
